Absinth(e)

I've become an Absinthe drinker, love the stuff. I'm not sure if it's the high alchohol content or the wormwood but it'll seriously knock you off your feet. I've also inadvertently gotten my clique of friends involved in the movement.

I'm a fan of LaFee Parisian and Sebor Absinth. I've also tried LaFee Bohemian, Alandia Strong 68 and Hill's Absinth. I've shopped around a little bit and I would not recommend Hill's. It's been my experience that the essential ingredients in Absinth are the concentration of Wormwood/Thujone. Hills tries to artificially reproduce the effect by creating a higher alcohol content, ergo, getting you drunk faster. It's not smooth at all, as their site advertises. Because of the alcohol content, it's quite forceful just to swallow. Then you shake because it's really overwhelming and burns too much. Not my choice of Absinths.

I also live in the United States and for those of you wondering the "rules" about importing this curiously banned bottle of "liquid creativity", you can visit FDA/CFSAN, or read to my jist of it.

1. It's basicly banned in the U.S. and illegal for any U.S. establishment to still or sell it.

2. It is legal to purchase, up to 2 bottles, from other contries and import it into the U.S. for personal consumption only. Any more than two bottles and it's considered commercial and,.. refer to rule 1.

But I gotta state, purchase at your own risk.
